About Tara

Tara Zimmerman brings a wealth of experience to GenCo Legal® from her significant tenure as general counsel for a comprehensive rehabilitation facility in Tampa, where she managed a wide array of legal matters including professional and general liability, employment law, and workers’ compensation claims. She also currently specializes in defending healthcare entities such as long-term care and assisted living facilities, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities against claims of negligence, elder abuse, and professional complaints across Florida and Pennsylvania. Additionally, her expertise spans product and premises liability, labor and employment, negligent security, and workers’ compensation defense.

Zimmerman’s legal career is underpinned by over a decade of defending physicians, healthcare providers, and care facilities, managing cases from inception through trial and appeal. Before joining GenCo Legal®, she honed her skills in civil litigation defense with a focus on healthcare law, taking responsibility for cases involving medical malpractice and nursing home defense.

Zimmerman has also shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami, teaching Torts and Florida Civil Procedures, further showcasing her depth of knowledge and commitment to the legal profession.
